October 15th: Mangerton :

Though abandoned by their leadership, the Fianna once again took to the field. We
were joined by King Ailil the wise (Queen Maedhbh having retired to her Grianán
and servants) Conn of the swift legs and a welcome tribesman of the Sioux nation who
called himself Crazy Horse! Of course the other Fianna present were Oscar, Cú
Chualainn and Diarmuid.

We first took to Mangerton and though surrounded by fog (probably some enchantment
of Fionn's) reached the summit in no time and flew down the side of the mountain to
partake of food. At this stage Wise Ailil had to be physically lifted up to get him
to move on to the next peak (fond though he is of long lunches).

We proceeded to head for Torc but unforunately ran into some Stags in rut, much head
banging ensued and though some of the Fianna wanted them ridden up the next peak,
good sense prevailed. At this stage Ailil fell into a deep sleep and Cú Chulainn and
Conn decided to race up Torc while the rest of us just ambled up. We dined royally in
the Halls of Muskerry and replenished our thirst in fair Clondrohid! Finally it was
revealed that the gang of four had re-emerged and were falling back into bad
habits. Cú Chualainn was all for having them gored but Diarmuid calmed the situation
by saying they'll get theirs yet in due course.
