October 1st: Gleninchaquin Horseshoe:
Joined by their long lived leader Fionn, wise Aengus, Queen Maedhbh
and Cú Chualainn of the Déise, the Fianna took to
the hills behind Kenmare. The day began in glorious sunshine but
detioriated for a while, something which did'nt bother some of the
Fianna who wore very few furs! Much taunting was done of Diarmuid
but as usual he rose above it all, even though malicious parchment
was being left for all to see but
luckily Cu Chualainn concious of his green routes, confiscated it.
Fionn unfortunately lost the symbol of his manhood and was laid
impotent for the rest of the day! We descended in a glorious balmy
summer evening and some of us paid our respects to our druids in
the Stone circle and communed with nature. All in all, a day fit
for great feats of physical prowess and much humour.
