November 5th. Hungry Hill:

Samhain the Celtic festival and an appropriate time for the Fianna to be amidst the hills. For our Samhain amble we headed for Hungry Hill in beautiful West Cork. We were delighted to welcome new members to the tribe, Attila from the Germanic tribes and Conán from Dubh Linn. Fionn himself decided to grace our company as did Queen Maedhbh, Crazy Horse, Wise Aengus, Oscar and Diarmuid. We started up through Fionn's Crack, sorry Gully and when we reached the top had a majestic view of the Beara Peninsula and Bantry Bay. At this stage some pseudo intellectuals decide to take over (Queen Maedhbh and her henchman Aengus) but their coup didn't last long.

Much of the rest of the very pleasant walk was taken up by members of the gang of four harassing Diarmuid but as always he rose above their taunting. We ascended slowly in a glorious autumnal evening and dined satisfactorily in a local hostelry.

Finally this may be the last log, due to Ma Jongs gang of four's censorship but the regional committee will soften their cough for them shortly. Tiocfaidh ar Lá!
