Mountain Log Index > Entry January 1st: The Paps A good start to the new year with a turn out of 12, which was very good considering that Thomas had thrown a great New Year's Eve party for us which went on until the early hours. A rumour spread through the group that the "Gang of Four", a shadowy group who are the real controllers of Cork Gay Hillwalkers were present. Weather was dry and cool with cloud down on the summits which gave some of the members of "Out and About" (The Dublin Hillwalkers) a chance to practise their navigation skills which are not quite up to our standards, but they are improving!!! The day was rounded off nicely when Charlie hosted a meal for us all back at his gaff. We were all quite exhausted after such a hectic social whirl, dear!
